Removing T-56, bolts out, fork loose, now what.....

I'm trying to change my clutch. I have removed all the bolts, and at first I forgot to loosen the fork. Finally I did and the transmission moved almost all the way out. I can see the shaft and it has got to be only an inch or so from being out but I cant get it off. The throw out bearing looks a little awkward maybe cause I forgot to loosen the fork. Can the throw out bearing be keeping it from coming out? Also it seems as if the driver side of the tranmission keeps hitting underneath the car. Not sure if you guys had that problem while removing it. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

It should just slide out once the fork is loose. Try using a jack to tilt the engine back a little to clear the tranny tunnel.

like Green96Z said try the jack. the T56 aside from being heavy, is the easiest manual trans i have ever removed.

Should I have just tryed getting the transmission apart from the bellhousing first? Cause I just tryed doing the whole thing at once. I think if I go ahead and seperate the transmission from the bellhousing, I'll be able to manuver the bellhousing more to be able to get it out.

Yes the trans needs to be removed from the bellhousing first. Then remove the bellhousing from the engine after the trans is out.

Thanks, it was much easier once I removed the transmission from the bellhousing.
