Removing stock U-joint?

Want to remove my stock rear U-joint and press on a 1310-1350 conversion joint. Asked my dad to help me and he said it's different than the ones "back in the old days"

How exactly does the stocker come off?

Thanks

There's a nylon retainer internal to the U-joint. It has to be melted out with a torch to pull the stock joint out. From there on, the replacements go back in just like they did in ye olde days. With the cross-over joint for my Strange, I just took it to a local shop and paid them $10.

Yep, helped a buddy install his Strange, and after a few minutes trying to get the old U-joint out, even with heat - decided to just take it to the nearest shop.
