rearend swap

hey guy my stock rearend broke the gears, and i short on cash so my friends crashed his same year 1995 camaro z28 but, i have a a4 and his is a six speed. can i use the rearend out of m6 and use it in my a4??? i know the ratio would be differnt but could it work to keep my car on the road untill i can save some money for a strange 12 blot with tru trac????

It'll bolt in but the ABS might not work and the speedo WILL be incorrect unless you get the computer programmed for the new ratio. You will love the improved performance.

As long as they are both non-TCS or both TCS, the ABS will work fine. You will need the computer reprogrammed for the gears or your A4 will not shift correctly (aside from the speedometer error).

The stock ratio for the M6 is 3.42.

If your axles are good you should be able to use a non traction control rear by
using your axles, brake backing plates and any other parts that are different.
