rear ends

Will a gen 3 rear fit into a gen 4 camaro?
1986 z-28 to 97 3.8 camaro

I know that the 4th will bolt into a 3rd.

Why are you going 3rd into 4th? Why not get a LSD, disk rear from a 4th?

They will interchange, using the same brackets for the springs, shocks, panhard rod, torque arm, LCA's, etc. The rear brakes will likely be different.

The big difference is that the 3rd Gen rear axle assembly is 3-4" narrower than the 4th Gen rear, so you need to use different wheel offsets, or thick (1.5") adapters to run 4th Gen wheels on a 4th Gen chassis, with a 3rd Gen rear axle assembly.
