Rear End Swap

Rear End Swap

I have a qustion what is the differance in a 93 Z28 rear end and a 96 Trans Am Rear end would we have any problems just switching these out or is there a differance in the to?

Dimensionally, they are identical and will swap with no problems. What you need to watch out for is the ABS sensor. Your 93 has a 3-channel ABS system, that has the sensor on the top of the diff housing. The 96 can be either just like that, or if it is from a car with traction control, it will have 2 sensors, one on the end of each axle housing, to support the 4-channel system used with ABS + traction control.

also depending on tranny and option package you may end up with different gears which may help or hurt performance
