Which rear end- s60, 9in, 12bolt?
After reading hundred of stories about blown 10 bolts, I want to upgrade my rear end sometime in the future. After seeing how expensive it is, I want this rear to last! I'm leaning toward the s60, since it seems to be the beast of the 3. What are its downsides, besides being heavier and losing a little more power to the wheels? The 9in also sounds nice, being able to switch gears easily. The only way i'd buy the 12 bolt, is if I got a good deal on one (i've read of a few breaking). Any opinions welcome, thanks.

I'm not speaking from personal experience, but yeah, my understanding is that a 12-bolt will handle that. The typical break point is around 700-800 rwhp.
If you want the extra peace of mind anyway, the Dana 60 is only a little bit heavier (25-30 additional pounds, similarly equipped), MUCH stronger, and often a bit less expensive. Just keep in mind that the extra weight is unsprung weight and will have a negative affect on ride/handling, especially on choppy pavement.

I'm making 800HP/800 lb-ft at the flywheel, with the 300-shot of nitrous. When the engine was originally built, the tranny was a T56 with a Street Twin/steel flywheel. The Strange 12-bolt had no problem with 5,000-6,000rpm clutch dumps (no spray on launch). But I didn't race it much.
The people who have 12-bolt problems are the ones who run the car every week at the track, a dozen or so passes, with the big clutch dumps. If that's what you plan to use the car for, consider the 60 or the 9-inch.
