I was wondering what the weak point are in the rear end of my 1995 z28. I got slicks for it when i go to the track and I am already doing 4.10s hear later this weak. I just want to do everything I can do not to break the rear.

Not much you can do with a 7 1/2''. And this belongs in the drivetrain section.

4.10's won't last long.
Look at the size of the pinion--- 'bout the ize of an egg--- not enough contact. 3.73 max and it won't last with slicks.
Maybe a little longer with an auto.
3.43 will last far longer.

It's going to have a limited life span with sticky tires on a prepped surface, especially with a manny tranny. You should also expect to wear the clutch out pretty quick, especially if you want to save the rear, because the best way to do that is to slip the clutch off the line.

I'm thinking about the only thing you can do that would guarantee the 10 bolt won't break is to remove it. Hopefully it stays intact on the way out.

Have you ruled out a 12-bolt and a Dana 60?

I havent ruled anything out at this point. If possible I would like something thats a dirrect replacment because of the limited resources I have as far as mechanical skill and tools such a welder and so on.

A 9", 12-Bolt or S60 are pretty much "bolt in". The S60 you have to buy a new DS or shorten your stock one. What kind of power are you thinking you will or are currently putting down?

The rear axle assembly swap is pretty easy. A couple hours on jackstands, with minimal tools, no welding. As suggested above, what you need depends on what kind of power you are making. Each of the direct bolt-in replacements has its pluses and minuses.....
