Question about Posi's

Just was wondering, I had a misfortune at the track and ripped apart my torque arm before I could even get going. I limped back to the pit area and jacked up my rearend to check a few things, and noticed that when I lock one wheel in place (say with a block) I am able to turn the other one with my hands, is this normal? I thought that it would be hard to turn both wheels independently but maybe that's only when the rear is under load? The rear is a Moser with eaton posi. Just checking to make sure the torque arm is the only thing that got damaged...

Re: Question about Posi's

Minimal clamping occurs until one wheel slips and the components within force engagement of the opposite clutch. The higher the torque applied, the greater the clutch engagement. Your Eaton Posi may be healthy....

Here's a link that explains it: http://www.eatonposi.com/prod3.htm

Re: Question about Posi's

Ok thanks for the article. I guess that would also explain why sometimes when I am turning corners at part throttle I can hear one tire peeling, I was also worried about that.
