question about installing posi in 10 bolt

question about installing posi in 10 bolt

when you install new gears and posi in a 10 bolt does it have to be shimmed out?

yah im not going to thats why i asked usually i just junk the axel and get a new one thought i would ask first. but i got to ask you say if you hant done this before you should go to a pro okay but if you dont do it how you supposed to learn? if i didnt have a lot on my plate i would buy a book and read it and learn how to do it but i have to much going on in this car so ill have it rebuilt or get one from the junk yard thanks guys

I think a novice CAN do this. I am doing my first one right now. Of course it is going to take me twice as long as a professional but if you measure everything correctly anyone can do it. Measure twice cut once!

i have to much on my plate right now with the engine and tranny so ill just leave it to the pros this time i really appreciate your guys help though
