Question for 9" owners.........
I have a 9" in my 78 Malibu and I can't get the stupid center section to stop leaking. I have never had a Chevy diff leak before but this Ford one is driving me crazy.
Do you guys use a gasket or silicone only or both. Its not a bad leak but I hate any leaks. The car sometimes sits for a few months and there will be a small puddle in the garage. If I drive anywhere there will be about a quarter size spot after I leave.

It is definatly comming from between the housing and the carrier.
I pulled it completely out of the car today to reseal it. I have been doing it under the car and maybe I have not been getting it clean enough. It is hard to clean all around the studs when you have the car just up on jack stands. No room to work. Both surfaces will be spotless before it goes back together this time.
