Pros & Con's to straight-cut gearing?

I know that they're stronger and produce gear whine, but is there anything else? I personally love the gear whine of straight-cut gears, and I plan on putting them into my Camaro's T-56 when I have it rebuilt. I was just wondering if there were any driveability issues or anything else when running straight-cut gears...

I had a '70 Chevelle and a '69 Camaro with an M22 trans (rock crusher) and it could be heard but I didn't find it offensive. No drivability issues.
