Unless you like changes out clutches frequently, you definantly don't want a SPEC anything.

As always I recommend the Mcleod Street Twin if you can afford the $400 up charge. It really isn't bad when you factor in the flywheel that is included in the Mcleod kit. I already sent you Spec pricing, but if you are interested in the mcleod, just let me know.

i have a '90 mazda rx7 with a built lt4...i havent had it dynoed b/c it isnt together yet, but it should be around 550-580hp without any adders. i had a stage 3 in the car for the short time i got to drive it. the clutch held fine, but it was so abrupt that it took the fun out of driving it on the street, and impossible in the rain.

what kind of price am i looking at for the mcleod? i dont think i need an alum. flywheel b/c the car isnt breaking 3000 lbs.

please give me your opinions...thanks- jay

thanks for your opinon...the clutch i had worked fine. i just didnt like the "in or out" action.

so far the best price ive found was an offer of $10 better than any other listed price...which was $619. so it looks like $609 shipped is going to be the best deal...

Have had both mcloud twin and spec 3+ in my car (657 rwhp).

The mcloud after 2 seasons figured I would have to replace it. All the oil that had been leaking from copper head gaskets and poor head machining should have killed it.

Only 3 thousand wear on disc closer to flywheel the other almost new I thought I would have to send it back for a rebuild instead I cleaned it and put it on the shelf.

Running 3+ now one season, nicer on street and have a stack of 10 sec timeslips clutch still in car.

Both clutch's good products IMO

you can also get a Mcleod single disc setup. comes with PP,T/O and disc. runs around $450. IMO stay the hell away from Spec. i only had 10k on mine when it blew and because i was just outside the crap 120 day warranty, they wouldnt do anything for me. it also destroyed a $400 fidanza aluminum flywheel that they also would not replace. their clutches are junk plain and simple.
