alternate tool for 3800 & LS1 clutch slave hydraulic line disconnect
Hi all--
Just thought I'd throw this up here: Other posters have said you can use a couple of screwdrivers, or a small channellock pliers to slide in the white plastic collar on the clutch slave disconnect fitting, if you don't have the proper tool.
If you have a collet tool for an air grinder or similar tool, try it. Or if you have a fitting wrench for an oxy-acetelyne torch, or a cone wrench for bicycle bearings, they should work. Maybe even those thin wrenches for AN fittings.
You need any sort of thin 17mm or 11/16" wrench, and it will work exactly the same as the proper tool, which, as pictured in the manual, looks just like a collet wrench.
A collet wrench is the thing that holds the shaft still on the grinder while you turn the nut thaht holds the disc on....
