pressure plate problem?
pressure plate problem?
alright about 6 months ago i put in a stage 3 spec clutch in my 99 Z28. the mods done to the car are as follows- slp lid, LT headers, mild cam, and loads of suspension. the tranny has already been replaced once. basically i was at a light getting ready to race this 2nd Gen. GSX eclipse (which isnt really comp but quite fun as yall know) and i put it in first gear waiting for the light to turn and when it did and i go to get off the clutch and on the gas the pedal stays down on the floor??? i was told that its cuz i need a new pressure plate.also, there is not as much pedal pressure as there was when the clutch was first put in. just wondering what yalls thoughts are on this. it doesnt happen a lot just whenever i have the clutch down longer than like 10-15 seconds. i dont really know what to make of this problem cuz i dont really know too much about drivetrain. that is really the only problem im having with it though, when im on a roll and speed shifting the clutch still grabs good and doesnt feel like its slipping. thanks for any help guys.

Re: pressure plate problem?
sounds to me like you were mis-informed.
98-00 m6 cars came with less than adequate hydrolics in the tranny. i think one of the main symptoms is the pedal not returning. could also be a bad master cylinder.
what sucks is you'll have to pull the trans to swap the slave cylinder, the 01-02 came with the upgraded unit. they are only about $135 from any of the site sponsors.
while you're at it...look into the "drill mod" for the master cylinder. that could alleviate your problems too.
