Pressure Plate bolts

Anyone know if the Gen I PP bolts are the same as the LT1s? They should be but I need to know for sure. Looking to order the ARP PP bolt kit from Summit. Looking at p/n ARP-130-2201.

Re: Pressure Plate bolts

I dont belive they are the same. LT1s use an odd bolt that has about 3/4-1" of threadless shank then about 1/2" of threads on the end. You might want to just contact a GM dealer and buy original GM pressure plate bolts.

You dont have to. Its recommended for flywheels, but not really necessary either.

Re: Pressure Plate bolts

Found a possible part # of 10079898 if anyone can confirm this. This was from a writeup of a guy using a LT1 F-body flywheel in a Vette with a LT4 pressure plate, so it seems like the bolts should be the same. Couldn't find the part # on Shoebox or any other online source yet.

It sucks that ARP doesn't make them.

EDIT
Confirmed the PN at Gilbert Chevrolet with a pic:

Excellent find. This should help anyone greatly if they need to find these bolts for whatever reason.

Re: Pressure Plate bolts

The #1 (IMHO) GM Parts vendor, Dal Slabaugh, has advised he has 24 of these on NATIONAL BACKORDER as of 9-18! Sounds like they may be on their way to being phased out.

I found a possible alternative here at McMaster-Carr (kind of a playground for all sorts of fabrication, they had an odd sized fuel safe hose I needed for the 280Z fuel tank) :

Item # 92316A630, 3/8-16 grade 8 long shoulder bolt, 9/16" socket 13/16" flange head, 1&3/4" long. I measured the stock bolts and found they were 1&5/8" long with a 1&1/8" shoulder with a 3/4" flange. I also ordered some of the flange bolts in 2&1/4" length in case I need to cut the threaded part down.

I'll update after they arrive.

EDIT
I got both sets of bolts. The 1&3/4 are about the same length as the stock ones, but the shoulder is a good bit shorter. The 2&1/4 ones have the same shoulder length but the threaded part is of course longer. Looks like it will still fit in the flywheel threaded part OK.
