Pressure Plate???
Re: Pressure Plate???
It's best to buy a new one. The pressure plate uses spring tension to hold the clutch disk tight to the flywheel. Over time the springs get weaker and could start causing slippage in a performance environment.
Re: Pressure Plate???
I reused my SLP PP when I switched over to a SPEC 4 disc. The SLP clutch/PP had less than 10k on it and wasnt slipping or anyting, I just wanted to upgrade to the SPEC disc. I had my stock flywheel resurfaced and cleaned up the face of the PP with a mouse sander (dont laugh, it worked good) and a 120 grit sanding pad. It wasnt grooved or anything, I just took the haze of it with the sander. Worked very well and the new clutch is grabbing fine so far. It probably is best to replace the PP at the same time, but I was being cheap too
Re: Pressure Plate???
If you have low miles on it, you might be able to get away with it. Just remember that different pressure plates might have different spring rates/forces, and that could affect how grabby the whole setup is.
Re: Pressure Plate???
ah... I see.... guyess I'll buy a new PP... but then again... might as well as get the ST... and call it a wrap... sell the FLywheel.. and the clutch and but that cash towards the real deal.
