Post M6 Swap Issues.

Got a couple of issues after the A4-M6 swap (haven't driven it yet).

1. I noticed that with it running, if I pressed the clutch to the floor it would make an awful noise. Let up a hair and its gone.

2. VSS wiring. I ordered the pigtails needed that were listed in Alex's guide and the VSS pigtail I got doesn't match the part num on Alex's site, but is a perfect fit none the less. However his guide states to connect the purple wire from the A4 harness to the new VSS connectors "A" terminal. The VSS pigtail I got was marked in no way. In testing I wired it up both ways and the speedo worked either way. The guide said that polarity was important for VSS. What are the implications for having it wired backwards?

Also if looking at the VSS port on the tranny, does the purple wire go to the left or right terminal?

I had the VSS issue myself. You have to look VERY closely, but you will find that it is marked A and B. I don't remeber where, but I remember looking for a long time and finally finding.

Its not there... If you look up the part number for what I got on gmpartsdirect.com, its listed as a windshield washer part. Oh well. If you could look and see what side the purple wire goes to, I would greatly appreciate it.

The purple wire went nearest the front of the car. The only reason I'm able to tell you this is because my car is up in the air anyway. I busted the damn driveshaft for the steering column while trying to do the rag joint eliminator.
