Question Possible AWD Conversion?

Do you think it would be possible to convert a camaro into an AWD system? It would be awesome to have mean launches, better traction around turns, and everything else that comes from an AWD system. It would also probably be very expensive if it is possible. So, with the way the camaro is laid out, is it possible?

It makes me think of the discovery vette that they did a cheap awd conversion on.

AWD is over rated unless your in bad terrain or weather. Its just more moving parts to offer resistance and sap your torque before it hits the ground.

If you have the skills to do this, and have the end result be anything but a monstrosity, my hat's off to you.

IOW, it's "possible" but completely impractical.

Here's some good reading:

I have to agree with Krause, "impractical."

Anything is "possible". If you have the knowledge and funds to do it I'm sure you could convert to an AWD system in any car. But my first question would have to be why? It would be a heck of alot easier to just buy a truck/car with AWD already in it.

As for racing it, I agree with the rest. Just a bunch of HP robbing parts.

i recently had the oppurtinity to drive a 95 NSX for a week, at first i thought it was the greatest thing around, but now looking back on my experience, RWD is far more fun, and sporty
theres something missing when you drop the clutch at 4 grand and dont hear any tires spining
if you want harder launches invest your money into some drag radials
