Unhappy Posi Carrier and gear Help please

So I have a 2 series posi carrier 2.73 gears.
I need to replace it eaton does not make a 2 series posi carrier.
Can I use a 3 series posi carrier with a ring gear spacer to use my 2 series 2.73 gears on it?
That way I don't have to set anything up just keep the shims on the same sides right?

Thanks,

Chris

You need a spacer going from 2-series up to 3-series.....in this case, you'd need 1/4" shaved off the back of the ring gear!

Are you dead set on keeping your 2.73's? Why not just upgrade to a 3-series gear (even just 3.23's.....I'm sure you could find a set of used factory 3.23's? ).

Re: Posi Carrier and gear Help please

I just don't have the money to set up new gears right now.
plus I have to re program the computer for the new gears too.
So can I use my old gears with the 3 series carrer if I use the 1/4 spacer?
Or do I have to buy new 2.73 gears with the new 3 series carrer?
But if I do that I can't just use the new ring gear right?
I need to get this figured out by tomarrow.
I have not had a car in almost a week and I'm going nuts.

Thanks,
Chris
