poly trans mount...
Re: poly trans mount...
On a lift..it would literally take 10 minutes. Dealerships around here charge like $120 an hour, so that guy charged you an hour probably. I've seen some small shops that do $65 an hour. Something like this is so simply, I would just tell them what you want and you'll wait for it while he does it. This is just saving you some effort of doing it at home.
Re: poly trans mount...
It really doesn't take much more than ~10 minutes, and that's not exaggerating
. A shop shouldn't charge you much more than ~$20 to install the mount for you.

Re: poly trans mount...
I'll be jacking my car up shortly to install the new ES poly trans mount.
It comes with 2 bolts and 4 washers and I believe 2 different washers. Is mine a single or double bolt? Where do I put the plate?

Bump...
I'm doing this right now and I need to know where I put the flat bar that came with it...
I have a single mounting transmission stud, so do I put the flat bar in the crossmember and tighten the screw into it?

Re: poly trans mount...
Alright I figured it out.....
Now just so I know, what are some problems that I will notice if something is loose, or not installed tight enough? I'm pretty sure I got everything.
It vibrates a lot, and it seems like my wheels spin more, is this due to the fact the broken mount was robbing me of HP?

Re: poly trans mount...
I had an energy suspension mount and the vibration was awful. I put a Prothane mount on it and it's much better. Maybe Prothane's poly is softer?
Anyway, I since replaced the sagging, weak, twisted motor mounts with prothane as well. To my suprise, there's still very little engine/trans vibration felt in the car.

Re: poly trans mount...
I have a ES trans mount on my 97 trans am and my 91 z28 and dont think there bad at all. Theres a little more vibration but nothing that bad. My gf drives in my car all the time and doesnt bother her at all. Its just like the other guy said if you can deal with a loud exhuast you can deal with a es trans mount.
