Pinion seal leakage

I have been reading all the threads about this and it looks like a common problem.
Had my seal replaced 2 times in less than 50 miles. Last (try fix) was installing a SS sleeve package and hope this works!
Anyone else out there ever try the SS sleve kit install???

Lucky you ... when the dealer fixed my pinion seal, they overtorqued the pinion nut. I trashed the rear within 48 hours.

The dealer didn't cover the repair under their warranty, and GM didn't honor the extended warranty claiming "the failure was caused by lack of lubrication."

No kidding! DUH! When it failed, I left all my lubrication on I-40!

So, since I was paying for repairs out of my own pocket, I swapped over to the 4.11 gears.

Yup, I'm about to have it done in the next few weeks. Should've actually done it already a while ago, but I've been a bit hesitant due to the stories I've heard/read about thrashing the rear end right after the installation...

I really don't have the $$$ to get a whole new rear end right now. Especially if the shop won't cover anything...

I'm not letting the dealer do the job, however, but a very good independent shop, so maybe their policy is different from dealers... Need to verify that before doing that, of course.

Knew I had a leak when I went to do the Amsoil fluid change review.. I went to the dealer afterwards and had them repair it under warranty..

Been fine ever since...

I have noticed that your pinion seal will go bad if your driveshaft is out of balance.
