Pilot Bearing Stuck, Any ideas?

I have tried numerous ways of getting the pilot bearing out of my trans am, I have had no luck, and I have even used the tool to remove it, If anyone has any ideas it would be a big help.

Just stuff wet toilet paper in hole and use a hammer, socket and extension. Keep adding more wet toilet paper. Put toilet paper in the socket to seal it. If you get a good seal it will slowly pop out the pilot bearing. I've done 3 this way and it works every time.

Re: Pilot Bearing Stuck, Any ideas?

thats similar to the grease and dowel method, the only difference is paper towl is probably cleaner.
my prefered mtheod is not the pilot bearing removal tool but a blind hole puller with a slide hammer

a blind hole puller comes in 3 sizes and will fit inside the pilot bearing, tighten it up to expand its arms, attach the slide hammer and give it a good yank

autozone rents these tools for free, all that they need is a fully refundable deposit, credit cards work great
