Picture of Tranny Mount

Searching through the board, it sounds like I have a broken tranny mount...strange thumping noise if I get on it. Anyone got a picture of where to see this tranny mount. Any procedure for replacing it?

Shoebox has a pic of the mount, and a comparison of the stock, 1LE and ES poly mounts.

Anyone know why there's no 'center bolt' on the ES mount?
What holds it to the Xmember?

Yeah, I searched under Shoebox's site first, but must have overlooked this.

Injuneer,

Any impact of not replacing this right away, besides the loud knock? Want to know if I can do this later.

As I recall, when you swap in the ES mount, there are two bolts that go into the cross-member, rather than just one. About 7 years since I installed mine when the car was still an M6, and there was no problem using the ES with the stock cross-member. I still have the ES under the TH400/Gear Vendor, but the M6 cross-member has been altered with an extension, so I can't confirm the two holes, but pretty sure that's the case.

Probably not a good idea to let the tranny tailshaft flop around due to a broken mount... when it moves it puts a strain on the u-joints, and is causing extra flex in the motor mounts.

Thanks Fred.. I figured it had to be threaded for a bolt [or two!] to go into it.. unlike the stock stud..

The poly mounts use one bolt in place of the stud.
