Persistent clutch problems, has the shop stumped.... HELP PLEASE

I'm going to try to make this as short as possible

Background: I blow the motor with about 6k on a new clutch (disc, plate, bearing). When the shop was putting the motor back in they decided the disc was a like worn so for $100 the put a new Kevlar disc in and supposable re-surfed the fly wheel.

Problem: Basically the clutch slips it High rpms, when I go to shift quick into second it just slips. They replaced both solenoids, realigned the damn thing, and replace the fork, and pivot ball and stud (which cost me $160). And it still slips.

I think it could be the pressure plate because it was never replaced, but it only has 6k miles on it. I'm about to buy MeLeod plate with bearing ~$300 and have it put it. Is this possibly the problem? These guys kinds f***ed up some other stuff on my car so it is possible they didn't do the install right.

I really need some advise.

Just a though, do you still have the same amount of hp/tq as you did on the old motor? Is the clutch rated for the amount of hp/tq that you are making?

All I did was put a new cam and 1.6 rockers in. I had an upgraded clutch to begin with so I was thinking the cam could be a problem.

I am having very similar problems also. I started having a problem with my stock clutch. it slips at higher rpm's but more in third, fourth, or fifth. So i replaced it with a spec stage III and i still had the same problem. Then replaced the slave/master cylinder and it is some what better but it is still happening!!!! I have read other people having this similar issue also. Anyone know of a fix for this?

Thanks, Scott

Did you have the flywheel resurfaced when you installed the stage III? Did you wait before you slammed on it during the break in period? Perhaps your rear main is leaking?

Anyway, if your brand new spec stage 3 slips and you have less torque than it is rated for contact SPEC and talk to them. I would think they'd give you a new setup and want the old one in return to check it...

yes i made sure i broke the clutch in properly and the flywheel was turned and a new pilot bearing also was installed and the rear main seal was replaced.

If you are making less hp/tq than is max recommended for that clutch i would call SPEC and talk to them. I would think that they will replace that clutch assembly free of charge. How long have you had it on the car? HOw many miles?

the car has about 44,000 on it and the clutch has about maybe 2,000 miles. The part that is puzzling me is the car is still doing the same thing!!!! After a new clutch, resurfaced flywheel, new bearings, new slave/master cylinder, new rear main gasket,no oil leaks and I broke in the cluth properly. I do not know what else to do with it. I will probably call spec and see what they think.
Anyone else with these problems?????

Thanks for the replies. Scott

check your clutch pedal play... i know with some high po clutches you have to readjust this.. if you have little or no play then the clutch isnt seated all the way.. happened to my truck and i fixed it!
