Performabuilt?
Performabuilt?
OK, I see we have some new competition on here. My question is, has anyone ever had a transmission built by Performabuilt? I know there was a poll last month and they received no votes. I know they've been a vendor on LS1Tech.com, but nobody there has any feedback for them. The only posts I see on LSTtech are from Performabuilt themselves...beggining for work. There's no feedback there, either.
Obviously someone has had to have something they've built, right? Anyone here with a 9 second 4L60E built by them? 10 second? 11 second? 12 second? Anyone with one of theirs in their pick-up truck? I just want some idea of what we're up against.
I'm not worried about reputation, because I know ours is top rated. Our prices are better.
Ok, so they offer a free shipping deal, and no core charge. Let me think here...Does anyone think that's really free? Anyone paying for a rebuild splits the difference...Even if you have a core or don't need it shipped, correct? Let's see...they sell a transmission for $2450 that MAY hold up to what our $1400 rebuild does. Let me do the math...$1400 + a $300 core = $1700, right? Let's add shipping. It costs $100 to ship one from Delaware to California. So now we're up to $1800...Isn't that still $650 more than you could get it through someplace with a MUCH better reputation and customer following? What if you have a core, and live in California? $1400 + $100 shipping each way? Gonna cost you $1600.
Oh, they offer next day shipping? I can get a Big Mac value meal at my local McDonalds drive thru faster than I can get dinner at my favorite steak joint. the irony is, this would also mean my Filet Mignon would also be CHEAPER than my Big Mac value meal.
Dollars and cents, quality, and reputation? Maybe we don't have any new competition after all? If we do, maybe someone will post as to why Performabuilts prices are so outrageous, or why they're worth it.

agreed.. this is the kinda thing that just SCREAMS dont go to CPT.. I dont see any need for a post like this and i see it as very unprofessional. All i know is that there Level 1 including a 3000 rpm stall was quoted for me at around $1600. So a few days after i order i recieve it all and I have no downtime aside from installation. This doesnt sound like a bad idea and is much more practical for the Daily Driver. Now I dotn know which one of your transmissions that compares to but I always question how many hardparts will need be replaced and how much that will stack on. I am in no way comparing your prices and product quality because I do not have an exact estimate from you nor do I know of a person running 9s with a performabuilt... but Business Practices are universal and so far they ABSOLUTELY take the cake. Come on man be a respectable person. At first the post wasn't too bad but as it went on you just began bashing and thats just not professional.
I also agree with these guys. Very unprofessional! I'd rather go somewhere else and pay more than to deal with someone that has an attitude like yours (seen it many times, in many of your posts). But hey, what do I know, I could've been a potential customer.

That was a shot below the belt. For as big and bad as you claim to be (yes you make good stuff), you just damaged your own rep by blatantly attacking another HONEST builder.
You're comparing prices without looking at the different levels of transmissions they offer, then you put them on blast (price wise). That was plain stupid.
DO YOUR RESEARCH. If you spent any time actually looking on LS1tech you would see there are numerous people with a Performance Built and are very happy with it! I am one of them! "Don't have feedback" yeah, you sure looked hard.
I have NEVER EVER EVER seen customer service this good from a shop. I would list more compliments about them, but this page would get too long

Performance Built
