Peptobismal looking fluid?

i was driving and seen smoke, i knew it was fluid out of my a4 from the fluid lines, so i pull over and it was pink like pepto. So i know im going to need a rebuild im sure. Is that from the cooler inside of the radiator leaking and mixing? But my coolant is green and this was pretty pink. Also i just tossed in a new vig 3200, will that be reusable? what does this sound like to you trans experts thanks.

Sounds like water/coolant in the fluid. It's most likely because of a bad cooler in the radiator. As odd as it seems, you don't usually get trans fluid in the coolant.

Anytime a transmission gets water in it, it should be gone through. The water/coolant will break down the glue that holds the clutch material to the steel plates.

Sounds like you'll need a new radiator, too.

There's no real good way to get all the water/coolant out of the converter.
