Panhard bar and aligning the rear end
Panhard bar and aligning the rear end
I will be soon getting an adjustable panhard bar to bring my rear end in line as it should be. Other than the bar, is there anything else I will need for this? Also, when the rear moves over is it going to do anything with the drive shaft where its not straight or anything? I dont want to mess something up by moving the rear. I havent always owned the car but some that have looked at it think its out of alignment because the car was lowered. Thanks in advance for the advice.
Put the bar in and adjust it until the body is centered over the rear axle assembly. Since the 10-bolt rear is symetrical, the body will now be centered over the driveshaft. But its not a big deal. As the body rises and falls, the body moves side-to-side, no longer directly over, or exactly parallel to the driveshaft.
And, if you had a 9-inch rear axle assembly, the pinion shaft isn't centered side-to-side, so the centerline of the body would never be aligned with the driveshaft. The u-joints accomodate these misalignments.

The chance of getting a response is near zero. You need to start a new thread, and you need to post in the "Parts Wanted" forum.
