Paging Pro Built Automatics ??? pm`s full

Hi,

I was wondering if you are seeing any issues w/ the pump pressure control spring on 4l60e`s? I`m running high 11`s w/ a 3500 stall. No shift kit but I do have the corvette servo. At WOT it seems like the trans is slip, catch, slip , catch really fast, almost feels like a vibration, I`ve ruled out any engine problems. 65k miles.

I know the trans go kit has a stiffer pump spring, but do you recomend using the trans go kit on a 400rwhp application? If so should I use the softest setting? I see a lot of people bad mouthing the trans go kit.

Car is a 96 LT1, 4l60e.

Thanks, Mike

Are you talking about the pump primer spring? Trans-Go has one that works very well to 5,500 rpm, and a another "hi-rev" that is good to 7,800 rpm. If you are shifting at around 6,000 rpm, then the right kit will keep the pump volume up at WOT shifts. Both kits come with steel rings that help keep the volume of oil up at higher temperatures. If you are talking about the boost valve assembly, then Trans-Go offers a larger main & intermediate boost valve, which increases pressure & volume to all circuits, at all throttle openings. The Shift kit can be tailored to meet your driving needs, by adjusting the accumulation and feed hole size (valve body plate) modifications, to match your engine, torque converter, & or driving needs.

Thanks for all the info. I think instead of tackling it I`ll take it to a friends transmission shop, he does a lot of gm racing transmission, even races himself. In case I have any damage to the clutches.
