Old rear out...questions about Moser...

Me and my friends got the stock rear off with little problem, a few rusted bolts gave us some troubles, but other than that it went smooth. We started to get the moser ready, got the bearings and that red cup that goes in. We are stuck though. How do they axles go in? We stuck them in and if you turn them they just pop out. I dont want to start hammering things in. Also, is that shim needed for 93-97 cars? I read one guide where it says NOT TO USE THEM, but I am not sure. Any ideas?

Thanks

Well, I figured out what I did wrong. But I dont think I can reverse. I can get the the spacer pressed on, but I dont think I can get the bearing off the axel housing. So does that mean I just have to hammer the axel in over the bearing now?

my 97 did use the spacers and what ever you do do not use a hammer. they press on and off with a press. if you dont have a press go to a mach. shop and they will help you out. i have a special tool to get the wheel bearings off. if you need ill take a picture of it for you.

I was just trying to figure out a way to avoid having to take the whole rear to a shop, but I guess I do.
