Oh man what did I do...
Oh man what did I do...
Ok my car is in my sig. I have the stock rear end w/ the 3.54 posi trac.
Tonite I was taking some drunk guys home and decided to [EDIT] w/ em and floor it in first gear. Well I rev'd it up fairly high and when I went to shift into second...it was all but impossible....
Now when I try to shift into any gear, its like I gotta slam it into gear. First and second gear are damn near impossible, and when I finally get it into gear the thing shimmies like crazy for about the first 1000 rpm....
Tomorrow I'll check the tranny fluid...but what did I do...I destroy my clutch, rear end, or something else? It was a stupid thing to do, and now I get to reap my jackass move. What could I have done to my car!?!?
Thanks for any responses!

How long ago did you change the clutch? Only thing you couldve done is, ****ed up the clutch. If its hard to get into gear when the car is not running with the pedal down then its the tranny, if its hard when running and you have a very hard pedal, most likely clutch.
Alright on my lunch break I am going to go home and attempt to shift the gears while the car is off......Its not going to be driven until I figure out this problem...but I def did something. And I would've never forced it into gear but I had to get home! Needless to say I slept very little knowing I screwed up my ride.
Any other thoughts?

When you try to shift gears with the car off, and it's hard as hell to move the stick in and out of certain gears. Since your gears are linked in pairs...
1-2, 3-4, 5-6, you can tell wich one is out of whack, you wont be able to tell the damage unless you pull the tranny apart though.
But usually you bend forks and jack up synchros when you force your car into gear, severly miss a gear... ETC. 1-2 gear shift is the most sensative and most common to break. Especially if you do what you were doing. Don't ask me how I know... but I will never forget that feeling when I pulled my tranny case off and say all the metal fragments laying about.
BTW what clutch are you running on that LS1 Slayer?

I have a Ram 400 clutch (rated to 400hp) but that bad boy slips if I rev the car out...its the torque not HP thats doing it....the clutch is the weakest point...minus my 10 bolt in my entire setup. Any recommendations on a new clutch while I have my tranny worked on?
Ok when the car is off, I can easily run the car thru the gears. I can do this with or without the clutch pushed in. As soon as I turn on my car and attempt to put it into gear it just is all but impossible. I didn't try starting it in gear but that may be how I can get it outta the driveway..
I would think if it were just my clutch, that once I got it in gear it would've been like the car was in neutral...just like a bad clutch feels.
Needless to say I am basically positive that I screwed up my forks and synchros...but this is something I am not going to do myself. Anyone have any other thoughts about this?
Thanks

you honestly wont be able to diagnose the car, till you pull the tranny. I once had similar issues when my throwout bearing bent on the clutch fork. You'll know if it's the clutch or tranny once you get that T-56 off.
