Odd tranny problem A4

Hey guys i just took my car for inspection and its been sitting for 6 months after being painted and all and winter. Well my tranny problem started on the way home of which if i give the car >1/2 throttle or so then it seems like its slipping and will not shift into the next gear no matter what current gear its in. Now before i put it away it was perfectly fine and would spin second and chirp 3rd. The car is in my sig and has 110k on it but im not sure about the tranny as i bought the car used and the guy said the tranny was rebuilt but im not sure. The shop i normally go to said that when they out the convertor in and did the fluid that the tranny looked healthy. The car has about 400-500 miles with the convertor and the cooler has been on way way before that. What are some possibilities.... Could it be the convertor? Sitting that long dry it up.... Obviously i checked the fluid and its fine.. HELP i wanna drive my car i havent even gotten pictures of it yet and theres 1 problem after another...

I have heard that many high mileage automatics do not respond well to complete fluid changes, and that they will often fail if they have been run for a long time with old fluid in them. Purely speculative on my part, you might want to post this in the drivetrain forum though.

How long was the shift kit on there? was it done by the previous owner or by you when you did the converter? The problem with some shift kits if they were not done perfectly or if you already had a few tranny problems but didn't notice them A shift kit will make it worse.. Not saying this was your problem but if the tranny had a shotty rebuild, then a while later a shift kit was installed that the shotty rebuild would show it's head quickly..

shift kit was installed with the converter. Its so odd cause it didnt show any signs of problems and then all of a sudden this which its pretty bad.
