no reverse

I have recently purchased a 95 z28 that has no reverse. The other gears shift strong, a friend of mine suggested that the valve body is damaged. It does drop a very small amont of transmission fluid. Just wondering if you guys know how much this may cost me, or since the car has 140k miles on it if i should just do a complete rebuild. The car only cost 1100.00, so i was expecting top put some money in it. Thanks for any advice. jason hall

Sounds like the valve body. Take it to a trans shop. Most offer free estimates.
