No criuse after T56 conversion, do something wrong?

Well as the title says, I just got the t56 conversion finished last night, all is awsome, all the wiring worked first try, and looks like the PCM from madz28 is working perfect....just cruise, doesn't seem to be working at all?? I have the brake pedal switch hooked up, the one with the 2 plugs(brake lights/cruise disable) but when I turn on cruise and hit set, nothing happens.....same steering column etc. I did remove the cable running from the column to the a4 shifter, and just left it disc. could this being the culprit?

There is a second switch that goes on the brake pedal that controls the cruse. Same thing happened to me and if I remember correctly it was the small white switch that I had to install from the old brake assembly. If you alread put all the switchs on there you might have to make sure that the switch is making full contact when the pedal is not depressed so that the computer doesn't think that your pressing the brake. Hope that helps.

There are also 2 switches on the clutch pedal ... the black one is for your former "neutral safety switch" (wired up now so you have to push the clutch to start the car) and the other switch (white plastic) is supposed to tie into the cruise circuit I believe??

I just did the swap myself as well, but honestly, I don't have HALF of the electrical sorted out yet (just haven't taken the TIME to finish it all) so I can't say for certain what you need to do.

I'll give you a link where you can get a BUNCH of info on this swap though (there are TONS of guys who have done it, and pretty much all the wiring glitches have been discussed and sorted out):

...sorry, it's several pages of reading, but you should find your answer in there!!

Good luck!

Thnx, that was indeed the problem, I put that switch on there, works perfect again.....on the guide....

it says: 'The switch that used to be connected to your automatic brake pedal (with two connectors on it) needs to be installed and adjusted on your new brake pedal. This controls the brake lights and cruise.' Which apperantly is not entirely correct....you will need both switch assemblies for cruise to work, I might email him, so no one else gets confused.

I think you are also 100% correct, the 2nd switch on the clutch assembly will probably be the switch needed to turn off cruise once the clutch pedal has been pushed. As mine is now, my pedals did not come with that switch, since the car they came from did not have cruise =( so I'm just using the brake pedal to disable it.

Thnx guys.
