No clutch
No clutch
Ive been messing around with this clutch pedal issue for a while now. Whats happening is that my clutch pedal is VERY stiff. I mean to the point were there is no engagement at all. When I first bled the system everything was ok and then I put the slave into the housing. When I put my foot on the pedal it didnt go down. I tried really hard one day and blew up my slave. Ive recently purchased a new one bled the system again and put it back in. Still the same thing. My fork inside the tranny seems to be fine. When I pull it down it has tension, not a whole lot but it has some. When I push it back up its very loose. What am i missing here?, Im pretty sure the tranny is going to have to come back out or could I just be missing the cup in which the slave is supposed to rest in?.
I cant say I have had this problem exactly, but I "might" know the problem. My logic leads me to think the slave is fighting against something... there must be a problem at the or past the slave. A faulty master or lines wont destroy a slave besides too much pressure or too much travel (and the travel I am not 100% about)
I would pull off the slave and make sure the fork is in the right spot. It should be positioned almost flush with the spacer that the slave mounts to. If it is in farther than this, then something isnt right.
Check that first, then I would go from there. It sounds to me like the fork is getting wedged somewhere and is NOT connected properly to the throw out bearing.
Take a looksee and report back. Something will more than likely not be kosher. You can also take the spacer off behind the slave and look inside better. Check to make the screw holding the clutch fork is in place (mine backed out on me).

Can you take a picture of the way the fork looks sitting in the bell housing? I mean like a front shot and side shot to note it's position. I knew a kid that did that and it was because he didn't have his clutch fork on the throw out bearing correctly. I've gotten pretty good to where I can rotate the throw out bearing with the fork until it seats (comes with many installs and removals of the tranny).
EDIT: He beat me to it ^.

Thanks I'll try that. So far every7thing is pointing to the for k and the way its positioned. I already ahve the slave off the tranny. Its in the up position, when I have it in this position, its very loose. Meaning if I press the fork from the slave hole it moves very freely, is that right?. If I pull it down like Im going to take the tranny out, its more stiff and iff I press on it there is pressure. Not alot but some.

It doesnt sound to me like it is seated properly. When you seat it... you want to pull the fork end towards the rear of the car as you press it towards the center of the transmission. This will position the prong end of the fork closest to the throw out bearing as well as make sure the fork is seated between the dip (the curved area in the fork that the fulcrum rests in) and the springy metal piece (the metal piece that keeps the fork from popping out.
It just clicked... you might have pressed it too hard and bent that spring piece. It should sort of click when you pop it into place. If that is bent, it wont allow the fork to pop into place... that MAY be your problem.
Have you altered the fork in any way or removed that bolt? Im just trying to figure out how this fork isnt seating?????

Problem fixed, I had the fork on the wrong side of the t/o bearing. Basically had to pull the fork all the way out and then put it were its supposed to be. Thanks all who helped and had suggestions. And didnt require pulling the tranny(thank god)
