New toy under my car.... Ford 9"!

Currie 9" (9+ series), 4.11's, Detroit locker (surprisingly smooth and drivable).

Car feels great with the 4.11's now.

It's got some white overspray on it from the previous owner, no big deal, I'll repaint it shortly.

Hooker catback doesn't fit now though, the pinion bumps into the intermediate pipe. I'm probably going to move over to an X-pipe setup instead now. I think the extra power warrants it.

Now all I need is to get my transmission to Frank already...!

Does the 9" rear make it impossible to run all types of catbacks, or is it just the Hooker brand?

The car it came off of had an SLP 2OTL, and it was fine.. so must not be all catbacks. Couldn't tell ya which it would affect.

Reason I asked was that my friend installed a 9" on his 4th gen and didn't have any issues with the catback, but he does also have the SLP 2OTL. Now I'm curious how other catbacks work with it.

Not sure really.. I think I might just have my I-pipe fixed by my favorite exhaust shop. Gonna save the Xpipe money towards the transmission so I can run this thing.

I have a borla cat back and had the same problem, a little tweeking with a ratchet strap to bend the pipes did wonders.

indeed it would be worth the ditching of the cat back.. specially if all goes to plan.. then my 9" would be coming around the same time my STS turbo would be.. mmmm oh the future holds so much for me. BUt i have to get through college with it first.

How much bigger is that compared to the normal 10 bolt (I know the 9inch is nite and day from the junky 10 bolt).

I just installed my 9" (4.40:1) a few weeks ago. I haven't been able to really drive the car though because of all of the problems I've been having (what's new). I do know it's a hell of a lot easier to take off now (Spec Stage 3). Congrats.
