New clutch or something else??
New clutch or something else??
I had this problem a while back and then it went away. Well now its back. Whenever I am shifting and my RPM's are revving, my tranny/clutch makes this wierd grinding noise. I really can't notice it when I'm racing (mainly because my car is soo damn loud) but a few nights ago (when it wasn't snowing
) I was coming home and when ever I shifted if I revved the motor and went into a different gear, halfway through releasing the clutch I could hear that grinding noise.
Could it be my clutch going out or soemthing else?? The tranny has Royal purple oil in it that has been in the car for about 18months. I have heard of some people getting noise from the wrong fluid but I would think if it was the fluid it would have been making this noise from the start.
I don't know for sure, but the car has 105,000 miles on it and it may have the stock clutch still in it (it was owned by a farmer whos wife usually drove it). Should I just get a new clutch and replace everything along with the fluid??
If so, what is a good, low cost, stock clutch that I can use?? My mods are in the sig and I don't plan on doing anymore power mods for a while, but will be doing suspension mods with maybe 1-2 trips to the track a year.
