New 383 engine balancing problem with street twin HELP!

My mechanic installed my st flywheel with the damn counter balance weight still on causing a heavy vibration.

I ordered the flywheel zero balanced but it didn't come that way . From talking to Mcleod, theres supposed to be a CB weight that needs to be taken off to make it zero balanced.

Now he's gotta pull the transmission to take the weight out and hes acting like its a lot of work to pull the tranny.

How much should I expect to pay to have this done? Can someone help me with this please? Is this really my problem? I have the street twin w/steel flywheel pn 64022-1A-07. Is there a weight that just bolts off this flywheel to make it zero balanced????? thanks

Yes there is a bolt on weight on the flywheel that needs to be removed. You can't get to the weight without removing the tranny.

He said he can't get to it because of the bellhousing that he has to remove the tranny. I assume this is a 4 or 5 hr job? thanks for the replies, at least im 99% sure this is my problem now.

With a lift he should have the tranny out in 30 minutes or less. Allow another 30 min to put it back in, and you've got 1 hour + whatever he claims it takes to unbolt the weight.

hah he said at least 4 or 5 hours. and wont be able to get to it till next week cuz he doesnt want to take on a job this big.
Because the "sports bar in the back needs to come off with the tranny and it twists." Im like WHAT?!?

I know with the fidanda flywheel I got, I had to get it neutrally balanced after I took out the counterweight.

McLeod's original design had drilled holes with weights pressed in to create the LT1 external balance, my early ST has this flywheel. They then redesigned the flywheel to be neutrally balanced and have a bolt on weight to create the external balance for those customers running a LT1 350/355.
