You have to tell us whether its an A4 or an M6 tranny. It will determine the answer.

Why not add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. That way the info will aways be available when you post.

Your car HAS TO HAVE A 1995 4L60E. No other years are interchangeable.

Injuneer asked what kind of tranny you had not what type of engine you had, he was just generalizing about what would be good info for a signature, plus most aren't psychics, there are lots of ppl around here that don't have the factory engines in there car, so you may keep that in mind next time your being a smart ***, that being said the 95-97 should work, the 93-94 has the 700r4 which is basically the same trans but it doesn't have all the computer stuff that you need, so i believe you can use the 95-97, and i'm pretty sure the 95-97 impala with the LT1 has the same trans. I've heard somewhere before though, that you should swap the governor out of you old trans into the new one so you don't have to screw with trying to get it adjusted right. I'm not an expert but i read most of this online before posting my answer, and I just went through this with my trans. and I did stay at a holiday inn express last night.

Good luck.

Thanks for explaining that to me. How was anyone supposed to know you had the A4 (4L60E), and not the M6 (T56)? Can't wait for the answer to that question.

My suggestion on the "signature" was simply a way for you to tell people the info they need to help you when you ask a tech question. In this instance, you only failed to include the tranny type. But you had to type the balance of the info in your thread. With a "signature" the info is always available, and people don't have to ask you questions to help you get thge right answer.

I've been here for 10 years, and I have a pretty good idea what it take to get your questions answered accurately. As a Moderator, I thought it would be "nice" to help you. Apparently you aren't interested in my help, so I'll ignore your posts in the future.

Good luck... and have a nice day.
