ok so my brand new Ram Powergrip clutch doesnt grab like it should. the Ram tech guy kinda thought most likely the flywheel was cut too much. i had it remachined at an auto parts store, it looked great but i think its cut too much. the pedal grabs within the top 70 % of the pedal length which obviously is not good and it just doesnt have that hard bite when u are ripping gears. so im gona throw in a new flywheel....

now, autozone has one for 60 bucks plus a 145 dollar core but i think im gonna stay away from that one.

anyone know where i can get a factory steel flywheel to put back in here and maybe get that lower pedal and proper clutch feeling. i think GM wants around 200, anyone got a better suggestion. thanks

or can i shim the flywheel i just had cut?

Re: need an LT1 T56 Flywheel
The shimming won't have an effect on how it matches up with the clutch/PP will it? since the PP is attached to the flywheel. I would think that the shimming may however affect how the pedal feels, since it will be shimming it away from the crank and closer to the clutch fork.......I could be dead wrong though, so someone chime in if so.

Theres a few steelies on ebay, including a new stock one for $145
