Exclamation Need help ASAP on 12-bolt install

Hey guys,
I need some help pronto. I am in the process of installing my Strange 12-bolt. Everything is bolted back up except for the brakes and the driveshaft. The problem is that the u-joint is about 1/2" short of being able to bolt up. What is wrong. I thought the shaft should be able to pull away from the tanny to give us the extra play we needed, but it does not seem to be working. I was also told that the original driveshaft would work and be the correct size so I am assuming that is not the issue. Please help out as my dad is helping install it and he has to leave soon so I would like to get it done.
Thanks for any help!!!!

It does fit with stock DS. The DS slides in and out of the tranny. Just give it a pull.

The slide must be stuck in the tranny tailshaft... it should slide completely out of the tranny, as noted above. When you do break it free, pull the u-joint back into the yoke, but don't bolt it up yet. Then slide the DS forward into the tranny until it bottoms out. The DS should not move forward any more than 1". If it moves forward more than that, it is too short. I installed the Strange with the stock DS and it worked fine.
