Motive 4.11 Gears

Everyone with Motive 4.11 gears, where did you buy them? I want 4.11 gears not 4.10's but I am having trouble finding somewhere to buy them. Please help me.

What would be the differance between a 4.11 and a 4.10. I would think it would be a waste of time to try and find a 4.11 when a 4.10 will do the same thing. JMHO Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I don't have a 9" rear I have the stock 10 bolt

The reason I want 4.11 gears is because they are stronger due to less teeth in the ring and pinion.

You will need to find a vendor that can give you the 37:9 combination. Try calling Motive directly. The problem is that Motive doesn't differentiate between the 37:9 (4.11) and the 41:10 (4.10). They have the same part number as I recall. The factory where the gears were cut determines which version they are. I bought mine from a speed shop close by and got the 4.11s. I didn't know the difference at the time.

I got mine from a board member who didnt want them. I think he might have gotten his from Thunder Racing. You gotta make sure they are 4.11's though. Just like stated above the part numbers are the same.

Yeah 90% of the orders that i c with my friends and such motive has sent us all 4.11's. You can figure it out by taking the number of teeth on the ring gear divided by the number of teeth on the pinion gear and then it should come out. 4.111111111111111111.

Hope that helps

from what I recall the 4.10's had more 'whine' to them than the 4.11's had...

I stand corrected I wish I would have known this when I oredered my 4.10 because I broke it maybe the 4.11 would have lasted a little bit longer

4.11's look MUCH stronger then 4.10's. There are less teeth on the 4.11s then the 4.10's. 4.10s are 41r and 10p where as 4.11's are 37r 9p. There is a picture floating around of a side by side and you can clearly see the 4.11's look much stronger. My car is in the shop as we speek having 4.11's put in. Mine are accually Sierra Gear, my buddy uses them in is Jeep and has had no problems with them, I got them from a non supporting vendor so if you what the name email me. Its night and day when you look at them side by side and even without knowing the ratio I would have picked them just by looking at them. Guess I'll find out, pick up the car tonight..

EDIT: Here is the picture I was talking about, compliments of Grease.. http://www.geocities.com/greasemunkeey/411vs4101.jpg click and drag the link to your address bar..

FWIW, when I broke my GM Motive 4.10 gears, I ordered another set of the same gears. When they came in, they were very different (like you said, different number of teeth) and while they were stamped 4.10 right in the steel, they were actually 4.11s

I suggest you ask these people to physically count the number of teeth on each because while they might be stamped 4.10s, to my knowledge, the "real" 4.10s are no longer made and are actually 4.11s.
