mixed reviews: drill out mod (for clutch/slave line) or no?
mixed reviews: drill out mod (for clutch/slave line) or no?
like the title says. I'm getting mixed reviews from searches as to drill out the line that goes to the slave cylinder from the MC. Ive got a new line coming in in a few days and am using a Mcleod ST w/ a new MC. i just wanted some opinions as to wether or not i should really do the drill mod or not with a ST. thanks.

why not?
Why not?
let's say the restriction doesn't hurt anything...by the same logic what could it hurt to drill it out? I'm saying I'm not sure the restriction hurts as much as people say it does, but I also don't think drilling it out could have any ill affects.
I did it a few months ago on my 98 SS and all seems well (just make SURE you flush all the chips out of the line). I dunno about the 97's, but the 98/99's had a crappy slave, so you might consider a new one of those if you haven't already. It's cheap piece of mind, you know?

well, when doing a search, i came across this thread: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...er+restriction.
"stealth z" makes a point in there for a reason not to do it. saying that it could possibly cause damage to the transmission. this is why i am hesitant in doing this mod. so let me know what you think about his rational.
thanks

yes, you can definitely do the drill mod on a 97.
BTW- the link that i posted previously was taken from lt1 tech.
