Mcleod Street Twin vibe problems
Hi everyone.
I tried searching this, but couldn't find the issue I am having.
When I first press on the clutch, for the first 1/2 or 3/4 inch of travel, I can feel the pedal pulsating, or vibrating, pretty rough. But, once I get past that point, it completely goes away. Like once there is pressure on it from the pressure plate being lifted, the vibration goes away. Is this normal?
Also, the clutch is brand new, and when I go to take off, it seems to vibrate pretty bad only from a stop. I try to slip it, but it is almost like it chatters... Is this normal? from what I have researched, it was supposed to be slippable. Is this not the case? Or will this go away after the 500 miles of breakin?
I know Im sounding a bit ****, but I dont want to keep driving it if something is wrong.
Background info: Im using the adjustable master from mcleod, and I also bought a brand new slave and line from GM and installed the master onto that. I bled the sucker for about an hour, I am 99% confident I got all of the air out. But I dont see how air would affect this issue. Once I push the clutch in, it seems to shift just fine.
Thanks for any insight!

My Street Twin was no different than the stock clutch, except it required about 20% higher pedal pressure (and liked 6,000RPM dumps). No problem engaging it, slipping it, no pulsing in the pedal, no vibrations, no chatter. It was used when I got it, though.
I called mcleod, and they were very good at explaining the situation. They told me that not all the fingers of the pressure plate would be exactly even, and that is what I feel with the first part of the clutch travel. When I go past that half inch, then the bearing is pulling back on the fingers and they have to even out, and that is why the pulsation goes away.
He told me that a little bit is ok, as long as it isn't violent. Looks like mine is just fine, as it isnt that bad, just enough for me to notice and be a little nervous about. Looks like all systems go!
Oh, and the lurching is because I wasnt giving it enough gas. When I rev her up a little higher and go, then it is fine. I was just nervous to rev it too high because I didn't want to slip the clutch excessively and wear it out prematurely.
