M6 Reverse lockout ?
M6 Reverse lockout ?
When I did my A4->M6 swap I didn't hook up my reverse lockout. With the stock shifter I could get it into reverse easily, but now w/ my pro 5.0 I have to use both hands to force it in. My question is can I use the accessory power with a switch in line to deactivate the reverse lockout? I realize the correct way is to splice into the wiring harness, but I do not have the time to take everything apart so this would be a temporary fix.

I swear, your posting the questions I have before I get the chance too. I too have this problem now with the my new shifter. I used to be able to put it in reverse if I move a little but now I have a hard time doing that. Im thinking I might have activate the reverse lockout solenoid.

Anyways, what I'm thinking is the solenoid is always preventing you to go into reverse until it is given a power source, which retracts the solenoid letting you go into reverse.
