M6 to 700R4 swap?

OK Guys, i am sure this has been asked, but i didnt have luck on the search function.

I am TIRED of going through clutches with my high 11 sec 95 Lt1. I am looking to go auto, but dont want the computer to control it and i want to keep overdrive.

I am thinking 700r4. I have a decent 4l60e lying around , but dont want to use the computer.

Have any of you guys gone to a non computer controlled OD auto and did you have success?

What do you reccomend and what all do you think will be needed for the swap?

Thanks, Will

i know its just my personal opinion, but i can't see swapping to an auto. just spend the money and buy a good clutch. there should be no reason for going though clutches in a high 11 second car. If it is because you aren't very good at shifting then maybe you should convert to an auto. I hope this doesn't come off as insulting
