I am not absolutely sure, but I would be very surprised if they are not identical. Did you check to see if they have the same part number?

Both cars use the same identical 10-bolt rear with no changes in design or parts.

I would have to disagree. I put ls1 axles in an lt1 rear and they were slightly shorter than the lt1 axles.

Gm did not change anything in that stock 10-Bolt for 4th gen cars. You may have got hold ot 3rd gen 10-Bolt axle shafts which are a different overalll length. Who was your source for your short LS1 axle shafts???

The 93-97 and 98-02 axles are different part numbers.

93-97 26063146

98-02 26059962

I've always heard they were slightly different lengths because of the brake change.

also, when you get a moser 12 bolt, they come with thin spacers..maybe 1/8",to use on a lt1 car,and you dont use them with th ls1's. so maybe a lt1 axle will work in an ls1 rear, but not vice versa??

I got them from a buddy who had a 2000 Z28. All I had to do was put some washers between the axle and the rotor and they worked. I was not concerned about it because it was my back up rear end in case i blow up my 4.10's

Re: lt1 and ls1 axles same length?

A friend has a 99 or 00 LS1 Z with out traction control. His brake calipers are mounted opposite what mine are. I think mine are towards the rear of the car and his are more around towards the front. Do they use the same calipers etc, just mounted in a different location?

Re: lt1 and ls1 axles same length?

The Caliper backing plate is different for the LS1 and LT1. The LS1 brake system is completely different even to the rotors. The axles are different length due to the abs location on the LS1. The LS1 axles are slightly shorter, but the axle tubes and houseing are identical.
