LT1 clutch fork disengagement issues...please help!
Guys,
I Have an issue that I cannot figure out and I’m guessing it’s somethig stupid I’m overlooking but I’m stumped. I Swapped my built LT1 from a 94 auto car into a 96 Manual car. I bough a T56 for it, new flywheel, clutch, etc. when everything is installed I cannot get the clutch to disengage. The fork is loose on the throw out bearing and doesn’t pivot correct. The back of the fork also hits the clutch housing. The fork has play at the throwout bearing and I don’t know if the throwout bearing is wrong or something is messed up with the fork. Please let me know if anyone can help me out? . I can attach pictures if needed. Thank you in advance for the help !

If the clutch fork is not engaged into the t-bolt you're gonna have issues as mentioned. When installing the transmission the clutch fork should not be engaged onto the t-bolt. Image #1 shows clutch fork engaged onto t-bolt. Image #2 shows the metal clip that engages onto the t-bolt. Image #3 shows how clutch fork should be when installing transmission. Once the transmission is bolted to the block, pull the clutch fork back, towards the firewall and slide it up onto the t-bolt. This should engage the clutch fork onto the throw out bearing properly. When installing the slave cylinder, the clutch fork should still be in the forward position.

I find it easier to slide the clutch fork onto the "T" bolt with the tranny about 1/4"-1/2" away from bellhousing. Slide fork on then push tranny in the rest of the way.
There will be some "slop" in the fork but not much. The fork should look like this when viewed after install without slave. Basically flush with the bellhousing without the slave spacer
