You'll break the LS1 mount if you're making alot of torque. When you had your poly mount on, did you have the spacer between the mount and case? If you install it, it will give you an unbearable vibration. Taking it out helps alot.

Yes, you just need a nut... I think it's 7/16 and that's it...

Nope, no spacer... everybody that's using the LS1 mount says they haven't been able to break it

Energy Suspension does a good poly mount. I broke the OE rubber one on mine and went to http://www.ls1speed.com and found it under suspension near the bottom.

I've got about ~70k miles on my car now, and with the exception of running the Energy Suspension poly mount for maybe ~5-10k, I'm still running the original (LS1) trans mount. I have raced my car SEVERAL times on the drag strip, and in the last couple years, quite a few times on road courses. TRUST ME, the road course is more abusive! (already cost me a set of 4.10's and the 4L60E tranny! ) ..... and I'm STILL on my factory mount .

I couldn't stand the vibrations with having the ES poly mount ... and I had the plate removed.

Thanks for your input Pete, I've tried purchasing the ls1 trans mount at a local OReilly but the mount they showed me had two studs coming out to bolt to the trans brace instead of one like the stock lt1 mount. Did they show me the correct mount and I just need to modify the trans brace or did they show me the wrong thing?

The stock LS1 mount should just have 1 stud off the bottom, same as the LT1 mount. You're probably best getting it at the GM stealership .
