ls1 4l60E to t56
ls1 4l60E to t56
i'm tired of my auto and want to switch over to a 6 speed. i have a wrecked 93 lt1 i can steal parts off of, except the t56 is gone. other than getting another t56, what else do i need. i'm assuming that the lt1 and ls1 pedal assembly are the same.
i have efilive so can i use that to take care of the ecm or will i need to buy one that is for an m6. also are there any t56's i should be after in particular? i think c5 trannys mount differently than the z28's right? how about driveshafts, flywheels, crossmembers, and brackets? thanks for the help. btw i my brother has an 02 m6 sitting in the same shop so i can use that as a to template off of.

The LT1 T56 setup is completely different from the LS1 T56 setup, so there's not much that you could salvage off a 93 with no trans. LS1 has completely different hydraulics, clutch, bell housing and input shaft length. You need a T56 and all the required parts out of an LS1 F-Body, except for the pedals, which should interchange.
The C5 tranny will not work at all.... its a rear mount trans bolted directly to the differential. While it called a T56 (same internals) the case is completely different. Hence, there is no way to use a C5 driveshaft, crossmember (there is none) or brackets.
