I used 2 straight extensions (about 11") on my ratchet driver which I managed to fit, very tight but it did fit, between the tranny and floor, with the handle sticking out on the driver side if you get the picture....I also managed to bend my left arm around the tranny on the same side so I could feel the socket sitting right on the bolt...
top one on the bell housing? if you mean that one, i let the tail hang down on the trany unsupported then layed on top of my motor with a wrench and got it form there. just have the car up high when you do it so you got room to get your arms in.
ok i got one bolt from somewhere im guessing that wasnt the one becasue my tranny is still conected, whatever bolt it was it was attached to a black thing like a piece of plastic so how far up am i talking? thanks for the help guys
was it attached to a bracket that held some line on top of the tranny? If so that was one of the bolts.... And yeah as everyone already said... looong extensions. I think I had 7 ft of em at one time because I was getting pissed and just screwin off.
ok all of the bolts are out but now i cant get the tranny to slide back, my friend and i used screw drivers to try to pry it apart but nothing, if anything it only prys out one side at a time but very little so i know all the bolts are out, we jacked it up tried almost everything, so i was just wondering if there was something i might of forgot to do after removing the bolts, any hints, sorry i'm just afraid of messing things up so i ask alot of questions to i know im doing it right but thanks for all the help.
Have you pulled the clutch arm out?
